Top 7th/8th Grade PreAlgebra This class meets every other day. Students are expected to keep records of all assignments and should be able to calculate earned grade at all times. Most assignments are to be kept in a very organized 3-ring binder with 5 seperste sections just for math class. The work is turned in as a unit packet after it is all corrected and reviewed by parents. The grading scale is as follows: 10% Units 10% RA's (can be fixed/corrected up until the week before the end of the quarter.) 10% Homework (grade cannot be made up unless student is/was absent) 10% Responsibility/participation (students must bring supplies to class every day ) 20% Quiz (randomly given--may be over homework or RA's or taught concepts or possibly come in the form of an organization check) 40% Exams (announced outloud and on the chalk board usually a couple weeks ahead of time. A = 92%+ C+ = 78%-79% A- = 90%-91% C = 72%-77% B+ = 88%-89% C- = 70%-71% B = 82%-87% D+ = 68%-69% B- = 80%-81% D = 60%-67% Return to top 8th Grade Math We meet every-other day. In this class, we have much to do. We do keyboarding, presentations, projects, journaling, and the AR reading program. Students are expected to obtain at least a 50% grade average in every grade catagory in order to pass the class. The Health topics we study include, but are not limited to: Nutrition, excercise, AIDs, STD's, teen pregnancy, self esteem, peer pressure, tobacco, drugs, alcohol, addiction, mental health, social health, depression The grade is weighted as follows: A = 92%+ C+ = 78%-79% A- = 90%-91% C = 72%-77% B+ = 88%-89% C- = 70%-71% B = 82%-87% D+ = 68%-69% B- = 80%-81% D = 60%-67% Return to top |
